Eisteddfod yr Urdd 2026 – Art and Craft 

If your child is a member of the Urdd, we ask that you encourage your child to produce items at home from the following categories: Please do not write on the work, only a name on the back. The theme this year is BREUDDWYDION (DREAMS). 

Design a T-Shirt (front and back) to celebrate your Habitat A blank T-shirt template to download is on the Urdd website. 

Cartoon Character – Devise and create your own cartoon character. Draw and write about the character with a 200 word limit. 

PHOTOGRAPHY – Individual photographs (Which are not larger than 600 mm – 500 mm after mounting on black card). 

The categories are: 

*One black and white print 

*One colour print 

A series of four prints (Which should not measure more than 760 mm x 500mm after mounting) 

*A series of four black and white prints 

*A series of four colour prints 

PUPPETS 

One puppet e.g. finger, hand string or wooden puppet using any medium. 

Dimensions to be no larger than 500 mm x 500 mm x 1000 mm 

COMPUTER GRAPHICS 

Using a paint program7me to produce an original piece of work created on the computer and printed on paper, (Clip Art is not allowed). 

PHOTOGRAPHY AND COMPUTER GRAPHICS 

A combination of photography and computer graphics e.g. using a scanner and digital camera, distorting a print on the computer, adding text. The finished work should be A4 size and the original photo included. 

JEWELLERY 

Personal jewellery, any medium. Suggestions are badges, bangles, necklaces, earrings, tiaras! 

DRAWING OR PAINTING 

One or mixed media e.g. paint, pencil, crayon, pastels or ink 

3D MODELS no larger than 1000mm x 1000 mm 

Using any medium or a combination 

CERAMIC/ POTTERY 

Should have had one biscuit firing 

PRINTING 

On paper, printing off any surfaces e.g. lino, wood, plastic, metal etc 

PRINTING 

On fabric, e.g. tie and dye, batik, screen printing , block printing, using the computer…. 

WEAVING 

Creative work based on the theme space. 

Knitting/Crochet 

2D/3D Creative Textile Work 

You can register your child’s work online or send to school by Monday 20th of April.
