Croeso i Flwyddyn 4 / Welcome to Year 4

Ar ddechrau blwyddyn ysgol newydd, hoffwn groesawu pob aelod newydd o Bl.4 i’r dosbarth! Mae’r plant wedi setlo yn arbennig i’w dosbarth newydd – mae hi’n argoeli i fod yn flwyddyn wych!

At the beginning of a new school year, I’d like to welcome every new member of Year 4 to the class! The pupils have settled brilliantly into their new class, a promising start to what I’m sure will be a very successful year.

Roedd llawer iawn o gyffro! Ar ol trafodaeth hir, penderfynwyd y plant alw ein thema newydd yn:

There was a lot of excitement! After a long discussion, the class decided that they would like to call our new theme:

Mathemateg/Mathematics: Gwerth lle, adio a thynnu, lluosi a rhannu, arian, amser, ffracsiynau, degolion a chanrannau, trin  data, mesur, siâp / Place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, money, time, fractions, decimals and percentages, data manipulation, measurement, shape.

Gwyddoniaeth/Science: Craffu ar y Corff / How does my body work?

Thema/Theme: Ar ein stepen drws / On our doorstep

Mae llais y plentyn yn cael ei ystyried yn gryf wrth i ni gyd-gynllunio syniadau a thasgau. Maent yn cael ei seilio ar y 6 maes dysgu.

Iaith a Llythrennedd: Creu ffeil o ffaith am Llangollen, Ysgrifennu cerdyn post o Langollen, Disgrifio llefydd lleol enwog, Creu gwahoddiad priodas.

Mathemateg a Rhif: Datrys problemau rhif, darganfod pa mor hen yw llefydd yn Llangollen, ymchwilio i fewn i dwristiaeth – cost gwyliau a gweithgareddau gwahanol.

Celfyddydau Mynegiannol: Braslunio llefydd enwog Llangollen, adeiladu llefydd enwog allan o lego, creu tusw o flodau ar gyfer priodferch, dylunio ffrog briodas, coginio cacen briodas, creu can a dawns ar gyfer y briodas.

Dyniaethau: Creu a darllen map Llangollen, mynd ar daith/helfa o gwmpas Llangollen wrth ddilyn map, dysgu am hanes adeiladau enwog Llangollen, dysgu mwy am briodas – sut maent yn gweithio? Beth yw priodas?

Iechyd a Lles: Casglu sbwriel ar ein stepen drws, creu dawns ar gyfer parti priodas, creu addurniadau priodas naturiol, Ioga yn yr ardal tu allan.

Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg: Creu pwerbwynt am Llangollen, ail-greu adeiladau Llangollen ar Minegraft, codio Lego Spike, animeiddiad priodas ar Stop Motion.

Pupils voice is taken into account heavily when we plan ideas and tasks together. They are based on the 6 areas of learning.

Language and literacy: Create a fact file about Llangollen, write a postcard from Llangollen, describing famous local landmarks, create a wedding invitation.

Maths and Numeracy: Solve number problems, discover how old certain landmarks are in Llangollen, research into tourism – the cost of a holiday and different activities.

Expressive arts: Sketching local famous landmarks, build local landmarks out of lego, create a flower bouquet for the bride at the wedding, design a wedding dress, cook a wedding cake/cupcakes, create/perform a song and dance for the wedding.

Humanities: Read and create a map of Llangollen, go for a walk/treasure hunt around Llangollen whilst following a map, learn about the history of local famous buildings, learn more about weddings – how do they work? What is a wedding?

Health and Wellbeing: Collect rubbish on our doorstep, create a dance for the wedding party, create natural wedding decorations, Yoga in the outdoor area.

Science and Technology: Create a PowerPoint about Llangollen, re-create some of the local area’s most famous buildings on Minecraft, Lego Spike coding, create a wedding animation on StopMotion.

Hoffwn i… We would like to…

Datgelodd y plant yr hoffen nhw fynd i briodas a chael parti er mwyn dathlu diwedd ein thema. Cawn weld beth y gallwn drefnu fel dosbarth!

The pupils let us teachers know that they would like to attend a wedding and have a party to celebrate the end of their theme. We’ll see what we can plan as a class! Watch this space…

Ymarfer corff/ PE:

Bydd gwersi Ymarfer Corff yn digwydd ar Ddydd MERCHER hefo Mrs Manon. Cofiwch ddod a’ch cit Ymarfer Corff hefo chi.

PE lessons will take place on WEDNESDAYS with Mrs Manon. Please remember to bring in your PE kit.
